The Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Scholarship Board, Professor Rasheedah Liman has stressed the need for the stronger support of the Emirate Council of Gusau to achieve success particularly in the educational development in the state.
She made the plea when she lead other members of staff on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, Sarkin Katsinan Gusau in his palace.
Professor Rasheedah noted that, supporting students through scholarship provision helps them to work diligently to reach their full potential in the area of education.
She added that, without a doubt, when students are in school and receive financial assistance, it would definitely encourage them to focus on their studies and to do the needfuls.
“As I speak to your Highness, we have already submitted our memo to His Excellency, the Governor, so that once he grants his approval, we can begin disbursing the scholarship funds to the students.
Professor Rasheedah also briefed the Emir on the activities and achievements of the Board, asked for partnerships.
The Executive Secretary, had also informed the Emir on the Board preparation for the upcoming First Scholarship Stakeholder’s Forum.
Responding, the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello promised to give all the necessary support required to the Scholarship Board given it’s importance to students of higher institutions, their parents and the development of the state as a whole.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Bello prayed for the continuous success of the Executive Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal and acknowledged the improvements so far, in the states, saying that much more progress will be made.
