In a remarkable display of intellect and academic excellence, Bayero University, Kano (BUK) student, Yahaya Lawan Muhammad, has emerged as the overall champion of the 2025 Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS) National Quiz Competition.

The event, held during the PANS National Convention tagged EPIC’25, brought together the brightest pharmacy students from universities across Nigeria.

The prestigious Paul Bayo National Quiz, featured intense rounds of competition that tested participants’ knowledge across the six core areas of pharmacy Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and Pharmaceutical Technology.

Contestants demonstrated exceptional mastery and quick thinking as they tackled challenging questions before a vibrant audience of delegates.

After a rigorous preliminary stage, five universities advanced to the knockout round Bayero University Kano (BUK), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State University (KASU), University of Jos (UNIJOS), and Gombe State University (GSU).

The final stage combined professional questions with general knowledge and current affairs, making it a true test of wit, composure, and intelligence.

In the end, BUK’s Yahaya Lawan Muhammad triumphed, securing first place, while ABU Zaria and KASU took second and third positions respectively.

Beaming with pride after his victory, Yahaya expressed deep gratitude to those who supported him along the journey.

Yahaya’s outstanding performance not only highlights his personal brilliance but also reinforces Bayero University Kano’s reputation for academic excellence and leadership among Nigerian universities.

His victory stands as an inspiration to students across the nation, proving that dedication, preparation, and confidence can lead to excellence at any level.
