The Controller of Correctional Service, Kaduna State, Yunusa Lawal has pledged to work with the executives of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kaduna State Chapter towards the development of the society.

 

The Controller stated this while playing host to some of the chapter executives in his office in Kaduna.

 

According to him, the visit of NAWOJ Kaduna was apt going by the initiatives and programs they bought forward to him.

 

He maintained that most of the inmates needs help both mentally and physically, hence any assistance giving to them at this time, be it in the areas of reformation, rehabilitation, economic empowerment among others would be highly valued by the inmates.

 

Earlier, the Secretary of NAWOJ Kaduna, Hadiza Bello Abdullahi who led the team as well as represented the Chairperson of the Association, Sahura Jibrin Maidoki who was unavoidably absent explained that the Executives were in his office for a familiarization visit to introduce to the controller and his team the new executives of NAWOJ Kaduna as well as seek his permission for their up coming three day event scheduled to commenced on the 29th of this month.

 

According to her, the event would featured prison visitation where there will be a resource person as well as other members of the Assocation present as a way of reforming the minds of the inmates.

 

Hadiza Abdullahi applauded the hard work of the correctional service in Kaduna State and urged them to keep the momentum.
