A non-governmental organization has screened 60 people for free eye surgery in two local government areas of Jigawa State.

The areas include Malam Madori and Kaugama.

Chairman of the organization, Alhaji Umar Saidu Yelleman Jambola, explained that the initiative aims to provide free eye surgery to 60 beneficiaries from the two local government areas.

According to him, the beneficiaries were selected from all wards within Malam Madori and Kaugama.

While speaking with newsmen, Dr Abubakar Adamu said those who have been screened with eye cataract will be transported to Aminu kano teaching hospital for free surgery.

Sa’idu Yalleman further explained said, elderly and children will benefit from the free eye cataract surgery by the organization.

The team leaders of the program in Malam madori and kaugama local government areas, Malam Bashari Suleiman and Dan-Alhaji said, 600 males and females less privileged people will benefit the free eye surgery next week.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the representative of Garun-Gabas and Mairakumi, Mustapha Bala and suraja Garba commended Jambola for the gesture.

In their remarks, the council Chairmen of Kaugama and Malam madori, Alhaji Salisu Sani Garun-Gabas and Alhaji Masaki Usman Dansule also commended the effort of Jambola in assisting the less privileged people in their local government areas.
