Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and promoting sustainable urban development through closer partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

A delegation from KNUPDA, led by its Managing Director, Hauwa Hassan T/Wada, paid a courtesy visit to the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Kano as part of efforts to foster mutual understanding and inter-agency cooperation.

Speaking during the visit, Hauwa explained that effective urban planning and development require strong collaboration with key security agencies to ensure the protection of government properties, enforcement of regulations, and maintenance of law and order within the metropolis.

She highlighted KNUPDA’s ongoing initiatives to review and implement strategic plans aimed at improving urban layouts, addressing illegal structures, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Kano city.

She noted that working with the NSCDC would further strengthen compliance and help safeguard developmental projects across the state.

In his response, the Kano State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. B. B. Bodinga, expressed appreciation for the visit and commended KNUPDA for its proactive efforts toward building inter-agency synergy.

He assured the Authority of the NSCDC’s readiness to provide the necessary security support and work collaboratively with KNUPDA in achieving the state government’s vision for orderly and sustainable urban development.

The meeting also featured an interactive session where both parties discussed areas of mutual interest, including the protection of public assets, enforcement of planning regulations, and strategies for improving urban safety and compliance.
