The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has inaugurated a Committee for the Screening of Tour Operators ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, the Director of Administration, Alhaji Alidu Shittu, described the exercise as a milestone in preparations for next year’s pilgrimage.

He charged members to thoroughly scrutinize all documents submitted by intending operators, ensuring validity, accuracy, and compliance with international best practices.

Alhaji Shittu also stressed the need to complete the assignment within one week in line with the deadline set by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

The director expressed confidence in the competence of the Committee to deliver on the assignment and prayed for the success of their work.

The commission recently announced a reduction of about N200,000 in the fare for the 2026 Hajj, compared to the 2025 exercise.
