Federal Government pensioners have raised concern over a public announcement by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD regarding the commencement of payment of the approved ₦32,000 increment to retirees.
Retirees of FRCN and NTA Kaduna described the announcement as unfortunate, alleging that the implementation of the increment has not started despite PTAD’s claims.
The senior citizens emphasized the need for their leaders to confront PTAD and demand explanations for the delay in fulfilling the promise made last week, even after ₦20 billion out of the ₦45 billion requested by the Directorate was provided.
One of the retirees, Alhaji Salisu Yahaya, faulted PTAD’s statement, describing it as deceptive and unacceptable.
He expressed hope that the remaining ₦45 billion expected from the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation would be released soon to ease the suffering of pensioners.
