The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has assured continuous collaboration on issues that will promote socio-economic, cultural, educational, health, and environmental programmes in the nineteen Northern states and the FCT.
The Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Mamman Mike Osuman, gave the assurance during an official visit to Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Alhaji Mamman Mike Osuman explained that they were in Kebbi State to condole with the government and people of the state over the death of Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami, the Emir of Zuru (Gomo II).
The delegation observed a one-minute silence and prayed to Almighty God to grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
He also informed the Governor that plans were underway to make the ACF 25th Anniversary a reality, adding that committees had been constituted and are working assiduously toward the epoch-making event, which is tentatively scheduled for the third week of November 2025.
Alhaji Mamman Mike further explained that as the 2027 National Elections approach, the Forum has issued a clarion call to citizens aged 18 years and above to take advantage of INEC’s registration exercise, register, obtain their PVCs, and cast their votes accordingly.
The Forum also commended the efforts of Governor Nasiru Idris for his strategic plans to curb the menace of Lakurawa and banditry across the state and advised him to sustain the tempo in order to achieve the desired objectives.
In his remark, Governor Nasir Idris said the state government would do everything possible to support the forum adding that, government will also do everything possible to secure the state.
According to him, his administration has been doing a lot for the welfare of people of the State which include giving free education from primary to tertiary level, free fertilizer to farmers for rainy and dry seasons farming, renovation and construction of roads, schools, hospitals among others.
