The Niger State Police Command says it will commence full enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit across the state from October 2, 2025, in line with the Motor Vehicles Prohibition of Tinted Glass Act 2004.

This follows the expiration of the grace period granted to vehicle owners to apply and process their permits.

In a statement issued in Minna, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Wasi’u Abiodun, advised motorists to obtain their permits through the official portal at www.possap.gov.ng by signing up with their NIN, BVN, or TIN, filling in the required details, and uploading supporting documents.

The Command warned that from October 2, vehicles with tinted windows without valid permits will be impounded and prosecuted, while urging the public to cooperate with the exercise, which it described as being in the interest of national security.
