Jigawa State government says it has approved the proposed N75 billion supplementary budget for the 2025 Fiscal Year, covering both the state government and the 27 local government councils.

The State Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports and culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed disclosed this shortly after the council meeting held at government house Dutse, the state Capital.

He explained that, the supplementary
appropriation aroused from the additional revenue aimed at addressing
emerging financial needs and strengthening priority sectors for sustainable development across the state.

Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed said, the council approved 58 billion maira for the State government and 17 billion Naira for for the 27 local government councils, covering both recurrent and capital expenditure components.

He said, the supplementary budget seeks to enhance ongoing projects and programs across critical sectors such
as education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and other
developmental projects.

“Provide fiscal support for new and unforeseen expenditure
requirements, align public spending with current socio-economic realities and
development targets”

Sagir noted that, the supplementary budget proposal will be formally submitted to the state house of assembly for legislative consideration and approval in accordance with constitutional provisions and
budgetary procedures.

The Commissioner added that, this move reflects the administration’s commitment to transparent governance, responsible fiscal management and the effective delivery of services for the benefit of all citizens of the state.
