The new Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria Kaduna, Mr. Haruna Idris, has held his maiden general editorial meeting with the News and Current Affairs Department, stressing discipline, punctuality, and teamwork as key to moving the station forward.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, had in attendance management staff and other members of the department.

Addressing the staff, Mr. Idris warned that negligence of duty would no longer be tolerated and frowned at the unhygienic state of the environment, calling for attitudinal change.

He emphasized that everyone has a role to play in building the organisation, stressing that indiscipline, lateness, and indecent conduct would no longer be condoned.

The Zonal Director, who has been a practicing journalist for over 25 years, reaffirmed his commitment to transform the newsroom and directed that the news must henceforth produce a minimum of 25 minutes of quality content daily to sustain the reputation of Radio Nigeria Kaduna.

Mr. Idris reminded staff that attendance at the newly introduced monthly general meetings is compulsory, warning that defaulters would be sanctioned.

He assured fairness to all staff irrespective of differences but urged those unwilling to work to resign and give room for committed hands.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Deputy Director News, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Gombi, decried the high level of indiscipline in the department and called for unity and commitment to support the new Zonal Director’s vision of repositioning the station.
