Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the ongoing momentum of infrastructural development across the state.

The Governor made this pledge in Birnin Kebbi when leaders of the Zabarmawa Development Association ZADA paid him a courtesy visit.

Idris noted that his election as Governor was divinely ordained, explaining that he had initially planned to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives but later joined the governorship race under the APC and emerged victorious.

The Governor emphasized that, democracy is about delivering tangible dividends to the people and he will continue to improve welfare, security, and comfort for all citizens fairly, equally, and equitably.

He expressed gratitude to ZADA community for their unwavering support and described the Zabarmawa people as hardworking, committed, and trustworthy contributors to the development of Kebbi and Nigeria as a nation.

Governor Idris also revealed plans to simplify the ongoing voter registration process to ensure no eligible citizen is disenfranchised in the 2027 general elections.

The Governor announced a ₦50 million donation to the Zabarmawa community for empowerment and entrepreneurship initiatives.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Budget and National Planning and former Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Bagudu, lauded Governor Idris for transforming the infrastructural landscape of the state.

He noted that, the Governor’s achievements have earned him respect at national and international levels.

Earlier, the Sarkin Zabarmawan Besse, Alhaji Bello, who led the delegation, commended the Governor for his support to the association, including the approval of appointments for some Ward and District Heads.

Similarly, the Sarkin Zabarmawan Kebbi and former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Abdulmumin Kamba, hailed the Governor’s remarkable achievements within two years, describing his leadership as transparent and purposeful.

In recognition of his efforts, the Zabarmawa community conferred on Governor Idris the traditional title of “Garkuwan Zabarmawan Najeriya.”
