Jigawa State is celebrating 34 years of its creation, with Governor Malam Umar Namadi paying glowing tribute to past leaders whose sacrifices and resilience laid the foundation for the state’s development.

Addressing a press briefing at the Government House in Dutse, the Governor described the anniversary as a time for reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to progress.

He noted that from its humble beginnings in 1991, Jigawa has recorded remarkable transformation in governance, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social development.

Namadi emphasized that his administration is determined to build upon the achievements of successive governments while charting a new course for accelerated growth.

He reaffirmed his commitment to his administration’s 12-point agenda aimed at inclusive growth, productivity, and better living standards for citizens.

“As we celebrate 34 years of existence, we must set our sights on a greater future. My administration is focused on building a sustainable Jigawa where every citizen can thrive,” he said.

The Governor highlighted key reforms, including agricultural mechanization, improved healthcare infrastructure, road construction, and youth empowerment.

He stressed that these interventions are designed to improve service delivery and position Jigawa as a model of innovation and good governance.

Governor Namadi also called for unity and collective responsibility, urging political leaders, traditional rulers, religious bodies, and the private sector to work together in sustaining peace and development.

“The progress of Jigawa is a shared responsibility. We must all work together, regardless of our differences, to achieve the greater future we desire,” he declared.

Looking ahead, the Governor assured that his administration will continue to prioritize economic diversification, job creation, and poverty reduction through social welfare programs.

He therefore, thanked the people of Jigawa for their trust and resilience, pledging transparency, accountability, and commitment to delivering tangible results.
