The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has presented certificate of return to the winner of Niger State House of Assembly by-election for Munya constituency, Mr Mathew Dogara Daje.

Presenting the certificate of return to him in Minna, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Niger state, Alh Ahmed Yusha’u Garki advised him not to see himself as a representative of a single political party.

Ahmed Yusha’u Garki explained that the new law maker should consider himself as the representative of all the people of Munya constituency irrespective of party affiliation.

He would also wants him to investigate and understand the problems of his constituents towards finding lasting solutions to them, which he said would enable him provide quality and responsible representation to his people at the grassroot level.

Special Adviser to the Niger state Governor, Political and Strategy Malam Mohammed Nma Kolo said though he has partake in many elections in the past, but the Munya By-Election that brought Mr Mathew Dogara Daje to power is one of the most freest election he has witnessed in his life.

Mohammed Nma Kolo however maintained that the victory of Dogara Daje is not only for the All Progressives Congress APC but for the entire people of Niger state that sees themselves as members of one family and not enemies, which he attributed as the secret of their success story.

The Special Adviser to Niger state Governor, Political and Strategy, however said the victory is also a testament to the fact that Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago is doing his best to transform the state to an enviable height, and that respect according to him is reciprocal.

Mohammed Nma Kolo appreciate the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Inter Party Advisory Committee IPAC, Security Agencies and critical stakeholders too numerous to mention for their maturity in ensuring a hitch free election and called for more to succeed.

In his acceptance speech, the new law maker representing Munya constituency at the Niger State House of Assembly,  Dogara Daje thanked Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for his purposeful leadership, his mentor Mohammed Nma Kolo, for the fatherly and strategic tips,  INEC for providing a level playing field, Security Agencies and critical stakeholders in Munya and Niger state as well as voters for their perseverance.

He however promised to initiate laws that would have direct impact to the lives of people of Munya constituency and Niger state in general.

Chairman Niger state Independent Party Advisory Committee IPAC, Mohammed Bello Maikujeri, had earlier expressed satisfaction with the entire electoral process leading to the conduct of Munya by- election in the state.
