Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, under the leadership of its Director General, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, has refunded over 31 million naira to 930 pilgrims who performed the 2025 Hajj, following a discount approved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the cost of animals slaughtered in the Holy Land.

Presenting the 2025 Hajj Report to Governor Umar Namadi, the Emir of Kazaure and Amirul Hajj, Dr. Najib Hussaini Adamu, explained that direct negotiations between the Board and the Hadaya Company, which oversees animal sacrifices, resulted in the refund to the pilgrims.

He said the amount will be refunded to the pilgrims, and the pilgrims who paid for their animal sacrifice in the Holy Land through the pilgrims’ Board will receive over 42,000 naira each.

Dr. Najib Hussaini Adamu said the return of over 24 million naira to the state government’s treasury was a result of the pilgrims board’s honest, transparent, and judicious utilization of allocated operational funds.

He commended the state pilgrims board and Governor Umar Namadi for the successful completion of the 2025 Hajj operation and for the adequate provision of welfare services to the pilgrims, particularly in the areas of feeding, accommodation, and medical care.

According to him, there is an absence of abscondment and birth delivery cases, and commended the governor for the Sallah gift of one hundred Saudi Riyals to each of the pilgrims from the state.

He said the newly introduced method of allocation of accommodation to the pilgrims before arrival at Makkah by the Pilgrims Board helped in easing the problems usually encountered over the years.

Responding, Governor Umar Namadi commended the Amirul Hajj and the Pilgrims Board for their dedication and commitment that ensured the success of the 2025 Hajj Operation.

He also commended the transparent and judicious utilisation of allocated operational funds by the Pilgrims Board and the concern of the Amirul Hajj on the plights of the state pilgrims both in Makkah and Madinah.

In his remarks, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, explained that the successes of the Hajj operation were due to the unwavering support Governor Namadi provided throughout the exercise.

He prayed for Allah to guide Governor Namadi as he steered the affairs of the state.
