People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Jigawa State has rejected the outcome of the just concluded Babura/Garki Federal Constituency by-election.

In a statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Umar Kyari Jitau Madamuwa, the PDP said its decision followed a review of the entire exercise, from preparations to the conduct and announcement of results.

The statement alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, used state power, engaged in vote buying, and intimidated voters during the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier declared the APC candidate winner of the poll.

The PDP, however, called on its supporters and all lovers of democracy in Jigawa State to remain calm, assuring that it would take all necessary measures to reclaim what it described as its stolen mandate.
