Political leaders in the country have been advised to demonstrate fear of God and patriotism in the discharge of their constitutional duties in order to move the nation forward.
A retired Director of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria DICON, Engineer Umar Abubakar Rigachikun, gave the advice during the Hausa programme Zamani Abokin Tafiya on FRCN Kaduna.
Engineer Umar Abubakar expressed concern over the level of corruption allegedly perpetrated by leaders despite the socio-economic challenges facing citizens, particularly those in rural areas.
He suggested settlement of pension liabilities immediately after retirement to enable the Senior Citizens enjoy new life to justify National Sacrifice.
Callers on the Programme, Shuaibu Panbeguwa, Dangude Zaria and Murtala Saidu were disturbed over alleged inability of states and Federal lawmakers to ensure proper oversight proposed by elected officials and called for election of God-fearing people in future polls to address the challenges.
