The Federal University of Transportation, Daura (FUTD), has matriculated its 2024/2025 academic session students during its second matriculation ceremony.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Umar Adam Katsayal, MNI, urged the new students to embrace the core values of the University, stressing that these values would not only guide them through their academic journey but also shape them into future leaders of the nation.

He further cautioned the students against indulging in social vices such as drug abuse, cultism, examination malpractice, and theft, emphasizing the need to uphold discipline and integrity.

Professor Katsayal also revealed the University’s plans to expand its infrastructure in line with its academic brief and campus master plan. According to him, the institution is set to provide additional lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, as well as staff and student accommodations.

Delivering his goodwill message, the Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’id Ahmed Alkali, congratulated the matriculating students on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also commended the Katsina State Government and other stakeholders for their continuous support towards the growth and development of the University.

The Federal University of Transportation, Daura, remains the only transportation-focused university in Nigeria and Africa, offering specialized courses in transportation and related fields.
