Sumaila Local Government Area (LGA) in Kano State has recorded a historic breakthrough with the completion of N300 million worth of development projects, including the provision of portable drinking water that has brought an end to decades of scarcity in the community.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government Matters, Alhaji Bashir Abubakar Yaro Galadima, who inspected the ongoing projects, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of its citizens through strategic investments in infrastructure.

Chairman of Sumaila LGA, Alhaji Faruku Abdu Sumaila, hailed Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving the N300 million intervention, describing it as a life-changing development for residents.

According to Sumaila, the installation of a 200,000-litre portable water facility is a landmark achievement that will significantly improve public health and well-being in the area.

He expressed optimism that the initiative would have a lasting impact, while urging the Governor to approve additional projects to accelerate development in the LGA.

“This is a new chapter for Sumaila. We are grateful for the Governor’s commitment and hope for more projects that will further transform our community,” Hon. Sumaila stated.

“With these projects, the Kano State Government is reinforcing its pledge to deliver sustainable development across the state.”

The initiatives are expected to boost the local economy, improve quality of life, and contribute to the overall growth of Kano State.
