The Kano State House of Assembly has received the 2025 supplementary proposed appropriation bill from the state executive arm for consideration.
The request, conveyed through a letter from the executive, seeks the assembly’s approval for a supplementary budget of ₦169,522,463,294.82 to fund key development projects across the state.
Speaker of the House of Assembly Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore explained that the executive is pushing for the additional allocation to enable the execution of meaningful projects that would impact the lives of residents.
After careful deliberations,the lawmakers committed the bill to the House Committee on Appropriation for detailed scrutiny and legislative action.
In a related development, the Assembly also received a letter from the executive nominating Barrister Saidu Yahaya as the new Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
The nomination follows the expiration of the tenure of the former chairman, Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado.
The nomination was referred to the House Committee on Public Complaints for further legislative processing.
The house adjourned its sitting to the next day following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussaini Dala.
