Federal Government has been urged to extend its magnanimity to workers, pensioners, and vulnerable citizens, as it has done for elected officials across the country.

A retired Police Commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Mairamri, made the appeal during an interview in Abuja.

Alhaji Abubakar who expressed dismay over reports of political mobilisation costing billions of Naira towards twenty-twenty-seven polls noted that such funds should be used to pay outstanding debt owed workers and pensioners to alleviate their economic hardship.

Alhaji Abubakar Mairamri stressed the need for political leaders to justify their mandate through good governance, patriotism and fear of God to meet public aspiration rather than engage in unnecessary public expenditure for ulterior motives.

He, expressed the hope that All arrears owed the senior citizens would be cleared soon considering hardship experienced during the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebrations despite assurances by the Presidency and the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD.
