The Nigerian Defence Academy-NDA says it will conduct a range classification exercise scheduled to hold between Monday, the ninth to Wednesday, eleventh June at the NDA open range.

In a statement by the Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammad Maidawa says the exercise is an essential training activity aimed at exposing cadets of Direct Short service course thirty-three and branch commission 2/2025 Nigerian Airforce to live firing scenarios, adding that the exercise is crucial for enhancing the firing skills and overall operational readiness of the cadets.

In the light of the nature of the activities involved, the statement strongly advises all individuals particularly farmers, herders and residents of surrounding and adjoining settlements to keep away from the open range area during the specified dates.

It also requests all locals to refrain from entering the area to ensure their safety, and allow the cadets to conduct their training without interruptions.

The statement reminds the general public that trespassing into the open range area during the exercise is strictly prohibited, as the NDA takes the safety of both cadets and the local populace very serious.

It adds that the NDA remains committed to maintaining open lines of communication with the public and values the support of the local community in its training endeavours.
