The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Wednesday the 28th of May 2025 as the first day of Dhul Hijjah 1446AH , Islamic calendar.

This was made known in a statement signed by the chairman Advisory Committee on religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu,

The statement cited that the Monthly Observation of the moon, clarified the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.
