Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has expressed confidence that soon the fight against insurgency in the Northwest would come to end.
The Minister stated this when he paid an operational visit to Troops of the Nigerian Army at Dukku Barracks Kebbi State.
The Minister said, the visit was to assess the progress of ongoing military operations in the state and to boost the morale of gallant soldiers by instilling a more positive fighting spirit to end the menace of insecurity in Nigeria and particularly in the North West.
While addressing the troops, the Minister conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s deep appreciation for their effort and achievements in ensuring peace across the nation, particularly the ongoing operations against banditry and other crimes.
Badaru, commended the troop’s professional competence, courage and sacrifice saying, the President and the nation are profoundly grateful for their commitment.
He urged the troops to double their effort in order to end all forms of insecurity in the country so that soon everyone would go about his legitimate business unhindered as expected.
The Minister appreciated the troops’ steadfastness and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to support them by putting their welfare as a top priority.
