The Kaduna State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) in it’s continuous effort has flagged off and handed over solar-powered boreholes and modern toilet facilities in Jemaa Local Government where no fewer than 50,000 primary Pupils and Health Facility attendants are expected to benefit.
At the event which took place in 8 Primary Schools in the area, residents expressed excitement on government efforts which is geared towards rural transformation.
Some of the residents including District Head of Bade, Mallam Danjuma Garba Masha expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and life-changing.
Mallam Danjuma Garba Masha said water problem has been a major challenge for several years in the community emphasizing that the gesture has brought hope to the people.
He assured that the community have already met with vigilante groups and took drastic measures to secure the property for a lasting use.
Director General of RUWASA, Engineer Mubarak Shehu Ladan said the state Governor, Senator Uba Sani approved the projects since 2023 and they were designed to improve access to clean water and sanitation.
He emphasized the agency’s commitment to supporting public health and reducing water-borne diseases through sustainable water and sanitation solutions.
“The solar-powered boreholes will provide reliable water supply to remote communities, while the toilet facilities are aimed at enhancing hygiene and curbing open defecation”.

Receiving the facility, Head Mistress of LGEA Primary School Ungwar Baki Kaninkon of Jema’a Local Government Area, Mrs. Salome Yahaya expressed her deep appreciation over the gesture stating that before now, the situation was frustrating as the school management and students have to beg neighbors for water and sanitary areas.
Earlier, Vice Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Utung Moses commended the state government stressing that the projects represent a significant milestone in the mission to ensure that every resident, regardless of location, has access to clean water and safe sanitation.
He promised that the Local Government Authority will implement it’s policies and programs inline with governor Uba Sani’s administration and to protecting the projects.
The Local Government Education Secretary, Mr. Ben Dogara Audu expressed gratitude to the state government for prioritizing rural areas in the ‘Sustain Agenda’ and thanked Engr. Mubarak Shehu Ladan for his role in delivering these essential facilities, which will improve health, hygiene, and overall well-being in the communities.
