Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD has absolved its officials of any responsibility for the delayed payment of retired workers’ benefits.

In a statement in Abuja, the Directorate clarified that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is responsible for the direct disbursement of such benefits to the accounts of senior citizens.

While apologizing for the delay, PTAD appealed to retirees to await alert from the CBN, noting that since all necessary documentation for payment had already been completed and forwarded.

Some pensioners from FRCN and NTA Kaduna expressed disappointment over the continued delay, especially when military retirees had already received their entitlements last month, a development they described as unfortunate.

The affected retirees also reiterated their support for a protest slated for next week if the Federal Ministry of Finance fails to resolve the matter promptly.
