The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation is set to host a high-stakes two-day government-citizen engagement session on May 20 and 21, 2025, in Kaduna, aimed at evaluating the progress of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration on electoral promises made ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Building on its landmark 2022 interactive session where frontline presidential candidates—including then-candidate Tinubu—presented their development agendas for Northern Nigeria, the Foundation is now facilitating a follow-up dialogue designed to assess implementation, dispel public misconceptions, and deepen citizen participation in governance.

The session will bring together top Federal Government representatives and a cross-section of Nigerian citizens for constructive discussions on the administration’s achievements and ongoing challenges across critical sectors.

According to a statement signed by the Director-General of the Foundation, Engr. Abubakar Gambo Umar, the dialogue will feature sector-specific presentations covering national security, agriculture and food security, infrastructure and social services, and governance and the economy.

“The event aims to bridge the gap between policy and perception by fostering transparent, inclusive, and accountable governance,” Umar said.

Participants will have the opportunity to interrogate policies, receive detailed briefings, and propose solutions for more effective implementation, particularly as they pertain to Northern Nigeria’s development.

The Foundation emphasized that the engagement aligns with its mission to uphold the legacy of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto, by promoting good governance and socio-economic progress.

Stakeholders from across the country are expected to attend the Kaduna gathering, which promises to be a defining moment in strengthening democratic accountability and restoring public trust in governance.
