Federal Government is yet to release funds for the payment of accumulated benefits owed to retired workers across the country.

This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Miss Tolulope Odunaiya, during a joint meeting with executive members of the FRCN and Federal Universities Pensioners’ Association held in Abuja.

Miss Tolulope Odunaiya, who expressed concern over the delay, assured of PTAD renewed efforts to address the issue and improve the welfare of retirees.

The Executive Secretary also advised Pensioners’ Associations to submit the names of deceased members to enable the payment of benefits to their nominated next of kin and facilitate the process.

Guests at the meeting, dismayed by the preferential treatment given to military pensioners, described it as unfair and expressed hope for proactive measures to improve the welfare of all retirees, including their reinstatement into the National Health Insurance Scheme to alleviate their suffering.
