The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, good governance, and development in Nigeria.
At an interactive session with journalists in Kaduna, Director-General of the foundation Abubakar Umar emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing the nation’s challenges.
Abubakar Umar stated that the foundation was established to uphold the ideals of Nigeria’s founding fathers, particularly the vision of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the country’s first premier.
“Our foundation is dedicated to tackling socio-economic challenges, advocating for peace, and nurturing national unity through numerous initiatives,” he said.
The Director-General expressed concern over the current socio-political climate, citing recent sectarian and communal violence in Plateau State and the resurgence of Boko Haram activities in Borno State.
“We must collectively denounce violence and strive for peaceful coexistence,” he urged.
Abubakar commended government efforts to reduce food commodity prices, calling it a vital step in alleviating burdens on families.
“The safety of our citizens must be a priority, and we must call on our leaders to implement effective strategies for community protection,” he added.
The foundation’s initiatives focus on education, health, agriculture, and good governance, aiming to enhance citizens’ lives. Abubakar emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between the foundation and the media, stating, “Together, we can drive meaningful change and inspire hope in our communities.”
He thanked the journalists for their presence and dedication, urging continued collaboration towards fostering a better and more united Nigeria.
The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation’s efforts aim to promote positive change and support the nation’s development.
