The Katsina State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, has paid an unscheduled visit to Government College Katsina, Day Wing, where she inspected ongoing projects within the school premises.
During the visit, the Commissioner also supervised the second-term terminal examination, where she noticed a delay in the delivery of examination materials.
She took swift action and emphasized that such incidents would no longer be tolerated.
Zainab Musawa also observed that some students were seated on the floor due to an insufficient number of chairs, desks, and other infrastructure, which were inadequate to meet the needs of the entire school.
She directed the Principal to submit a request to the Ministry within the week to address the issue.
After inquiring about the distribution of chairs, the Principal explained that while some classes had received chairs, the supply was still inadequate to cater to all classrooms.
In a related development, the Commissioner visited Dikko College Katsina, where she inspected the abandoned World Bank project that had been initiated prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She expressed dismay over the project’s stagnation and pledged to review and complete it in order to enhance educational development in Katsina State.
The Commissioner also commended the effort, zeal and moral of the teachers towards inculcating moral behaviors to the learners and urged them to maintain the tempo.
