Retired workers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) have staged protests at various locations over the delayed payment of their arrears.

The Association of FRCN Retirees directed its members to embark on the protest following the alleged failure of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) and other relevant authorities to implement the presidential directive for payment of their benefits.

Chairman of the Association, Mr. Sola Ogunmola, who led the Ibadan chapter of the protest, explained that the action became necessary as other pensioners from government ministries were receiving regular payments.

Mr. Ogunmola emphasized the need for the immediate payment of outstanding benefits to alleviate the suffering of senior citizens who served the nation with dedication.

In Kaduna, some FRCN pensioners who supported the protest described the silence of the national leadership on the matter as unfortunate and urged stakeholders to take proactive steps to ensure compliance with the presidential directive.
