Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commended the commitment of the Jigawa State Government for championing the Safe Schools Program in the country.

The Commandant of the National Safe Schools Initiative Program, Barrister Rabiu Muhammad, stated this while presenting a letter of appreciation from the Commandant General of the NSCDC to Governor Umar Namadi in recognition of his exemplary leadership.

He explained that the service was impressed with the effort of Governor Namadi for purchasing two brand new Toyota Hilux, Four motorcycles and equipment worth four hundred million naira for the state Safe Schools Rapid Response Center.

The Commandant therefore, called on the state Governments especially those facing insecurity to emulate Governor Umar Namadi in providing all the necessary support to the safe schools program.

Responding, Governor Umar Namadi expressed delight for the recognition by the commandant of the Nigeria security and civil Defence corps.

Malam Umar Namadi Namadi said, the state Government has recruited over Nine thousand Nine hundred security guards in addition to more than four hundred million naira expanded on the fencing of public boarding schools to ensure safe and secured environment of learning in the state.

The Governor also assured that the state Government will continue to collaborate with the Nigeria security and civil Defence in ensuring the security of public schools and investments across the state.
