Jigawa State Government, in partnership with the Korean International Cooperation Agency KOICA, has launched JIGAWA ONE API, an advanced AI-powered platform aimed at enhancing digital governance.

This was made known during the closing ceremony of the E-Government Capacity Building Programme, attended by Governor Malam Umar Namadi and KOICA’s Country Director, Mr. Son Sungil.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Jigawa State, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, stated in a statement that, as part of the initiative, 112 civil servants from 50 ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) received training on e-governance solutions.

Governor Namadi emphasized the importance of this collaboration in accelerating the state’s ICT-driven development, reaffirming Jigawa’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve governance and public service delivery.

The JIGAWA ONE API will serve as a central hub for e-government solutions, integrating artificial intelligence, block chain, and quantum computing to enhance data sharing and collaboration across government institutions.

The platform is expected to boost transparency, efficiency, and citizen engagement in governance.

Governor Namadi also announced plans to update the state’s e-governance master plan, initially developed with support from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

He stressed the need to align the plan with emerging trends in AI and smart government services.

Dr. Rislan Kanya, the Governor’s technical adviser on ICT and Digital Economy, highlighted KOICA’s crucial role in Nigeria’s e-governance development.

He noted that Korea has been instrumental in advancing digital governance in Jigawa and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to integrating the latest technologies for more efficient and transparent governance.
