Over five hundred people are set to benefit from a free medical outreach organized by the Save-Space Humanitarian Initiative and sponsored by the Katsina State First Lady, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda.
Flagging off the exercise at Comprehensive Health Center, Dutsinma, the First Lady stated that the initiative aims to ease the financial burden of medical expenses for people and ensure quality healthcare is accessible at their doorstep.
Represented by the wife of the Katsina State Chief of Staff, Hajiya Maijidda Andaje, she explained that various ailments will be diagnosed, and patients will receive the necessary medications, while those with complicated conditions will be referred to secondary healthcare facilities.
She advised the patients to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure the success of the program, adding that each patient would receive free medication and two packs of spaghetti, and also urged them not to sell the items.
Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda further explained that patients with sickle cell anemia receive treatment on the last Monday of every month across the state’s three senatorial zones of Katsina, Daura, and Funtua at no cost.
In an interview with the beneficiaries who are mostly poor people commended the effort of the first lady for choosing Dutsinma local government area in executing the exercise and assured to use the gesture judiciously.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Yandakan Katsina, District Head of Dutsinma Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada, represented by the Yariman Dutsinma Alhaji Amadu Abubakar commended the effort of the state governor for his timely support to Dutsinma local government area.
