Federal pensioners have urged the National Assembly to conclude its investigation into the alleged misappropriation of COVID-19 palliatives, estimated at ₦100 billion, to facilitate the payment of accumulated arrears.

In separate comments, the pensioners expressed concern over the delay in the submission of a report on the issue by the House of Representatives committee, several months after its inauguration.

They also emphasized the need for the National Union of Pensioners to establish a special committee to engage with the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) for the settlement of all arrears approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A retired worker of the FRCN Kaduna, Alhaji Shehu Isa, expressed hope that the promises made by the Directorate would be fulfilled soon to prevent planned protests over the prolonged delay, which he described as unfortunate.
