A Non Governmental Organization, Islamic Society of Eggon-land has donated assorted foods items worth millions of naira as Ramadan Package to inmates of Wamba Correctional Center.
General Secretary of the Charitable Organisation, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Galle presented the items to management of Wamba Correctional Center in Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
While presenting the assorted foods items, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Galle said the gesture was aimed at supporting the government efforts in providing the foods for Iftar to the inmates to relief especially in the month of Ramadan.
“One of the reason of this outing by the Islamic Society of Eggon-land is to fulfill the spiritual obligation in the month of Ramadan this particular one is sixth in the series of humanitarian visit to prison and hospitals”
The General Secretary of Islamic Society of Eggon-land maintained that, the essence of the visit is to fulfill one of the obligation and ensure that, the prisoners make their sahur and Iftar similar to everyone who are moving freely outside.
Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Galle explained that, the charitable Organization would continue to spent their available resources to the people who are in dear needs of assistance, adding that the month of Ramadan is a time of Marcy, Joy, happiness and prayers
According to him, this is the sixth series of the annual gesture to the correctional facility by the Islamic Society of Eggon-land and lauded the management of the Wamba custodian center for given all the necessary support to the charitable organization to achieving their set goals.
In a remark, the in-charge of Wamba Correctional Center supretendant, John Ali Vando while appreciating the charitable organization for the gesture to the inmates promised to judiciously use the assorted foods items as it was meant for.
“On behalf of the controller General we really appreciate and commended your efforts and humanitarian gestures while God Almighty Allah will continue to open more ways for you”; he added
The assorted foods items donated includes five bags of rice, sugar, maize, granded millets, salt, cartoons of maggi cubes, Jerican of granots oil, five cartoons of dry fish among others.
