The Zamfara State Police Command has presented cheques totaling over 94 million naira to the families of 23 deceased police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Commissioner of Police in the State Muhammad Shehu Dalijan handed over the cheques on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, during a ceremony in Gusau.

Shehu Dalijan stressed that, no amount of money can replace their loved ones, the support was meant to assist the families during difficult time.

He noted that, the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to honoring its fallen heroes and supporting their dependents.

Dalijan advised them to invest the money wisely in businesses that would help them to become self-reliant for a stable future.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke with newsmen expressed gratitude to the police for the financial assistance.

The gesture is part of IGP Family Welfare Schemes among others aimed at providing financial relief to the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
