As the Ramadan fast commences, wealthy individuals have been urged to provide feeding for the poor, less privileged and physically challenged persons to ease their suffering during the holy month.
An All Progressives Congress stalwart, AbdulAzeez Maituraka, made the call in Katsina at the launch of a Ramadan feeding program at Sabuwar Kasuwa area of Katsina metropolis.
He observed that most poor and vulnerable persons that include Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), the physically challenged, orphans and widows are finding it difficult to have nutritious food to break their fast.
While commending the Katsina State and local governments for opening feeding points across all wards in the state, Maituraka appealed to wealthy individuals to also follow suit.
He urged farmers and food traders to continue to lower the prices of food items and to ensure that the falling food items reflect in the prices of food items in the market.
