Kano State Government has officially launched the 2025 Ramadan Feeding Programme, aimed at providing daily iftar meals to 91,000 vulnerable residents across the state.
The programme, which will run for 27 days, is part of the government’s efforts to support its large population of Ramadan observers.
Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who also serves as the chairman of the programme, officially inaugurated the initiative at the Dandali Centre in Fagge Local Government Area.
He expressed satisfaction with the smooth takeoff of the programme and urged the catering companies involved to ensure timely and efficient delivery of meals to all feeding centers.
The programme will be implemented across 91 designated feeding centers, with catering service providers engaged to prepare and deliver 91,000 meals daily.
Radio Nigeria reports that the State Government has allocated substantial resources to ensure the programme’s success, demonstrating its commitment to supporting vulnerable residents during the holy month of Ramadan.
The launch ceremony was attended by top government officials, including the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, and the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal.
