The Kano State House of Assembly KNHA has passed the Kano State Social Protection Agency Bill, 2025.

This was sequel to deliberations on the floor of the house during plenary presided over by the speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore held in Kano.

The passage of the bill paves way for the establishment of an agency that will provide assistance to the most vulnerable groups in the state.

The agency’s primary objective is to offer support to the less privileged, aged people, and citizens in need of health, education, and job creation services.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after plenary, the majority leader Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala pointed out that, if assented, the social protection agency will be headed by a Director General with experience in social services, along with a board of trustees comprising representatives from various ministries and partner organizations.

 

He emphasized that the agency aims to reduce the vulnerability of citizens and enhance their living conditions.

 

He stressed that, the agency’s establishment is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of Kano State residents.

 

In a related development, the speaker of the house, Jibril Ismail Falgore, congratulated Governor Abba Yusuf on his nomination for the Best Governor of the Year Award in Education and the African Governor of the Year 2025 award.

The house adjourned it’s sitting in a motion moved by the majority leader Lawan Husaini .
