Jigawa State Government has approved over 1.5 billion naira for the payment of compensation to beneficiaries in towns affected by township road construction across the state.

The State Commissioner, Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed disclosed this to newsmen after the state executive Council meeting held at government house Dutse.

According to him, the road construction affects towns particularly Fagam, Kila-Jugwa-Sakuwa -Gwaram, Sankara -Ringim, Bulangu-Kafin Hausa, Gandun Sarki – Hadejia, Dansure -Roni, Aujara -Jahun and Dutse LGAs as presented by ministry of land, housing, urban development and regional planning.

Alhaji Sagir Musa said, the council has also approved the sum of over eight point two billion naira as advance 30% down – payment of the inputs costs for the year 2025 dry season rice programme.

He further explained that, the approval is with a view to enhance food security and livelihood of millions of Jigawa
State Citizens by targeting 58,500 Farmers as loan to cultivate 50,000 hectares of rice in 1,000 clusters across the rice producing areas of the state which will be covered after harvest as presented by Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The Commissioner said, the state executive council has approved the signing of a 2 Years extension of the Memorandum of Understating between Jigawa State Government Ministry of Health and Medicins San Frontiers (MSF) France an International private NonGovernmental Humanitarian Organization.

According to him, the signing of the MoU is aimed at strengthening the state efforts to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates through the provision of efficient obstetric care at Jahun General Hospital, Ajura and Miga Primary Healthcare Facilities as presented by Commissioner Ministry of Health.
