Retired workers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) have expressed delight over the clarification by the Minister of Finance regarding the beneficiaries of the N758 billion approved for settling accumulated pension arrears.

In their reaction in Kaduna, the pensioners noted that the clarification confirmed that the funds would be disbursed to two categories of retired workers under the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) and the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).

They expressed hope that the payments would be made before the end of the month, allowing pensioners to comfortably observe the Ramadan fast.

A retired Chief Security Officer of NTA, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar, commended the Federal Government for its assurance and urged pensioners’ associations to closely monitor the disbursement process to prevent any irregularities.

He further called for the inclusion of pensioners in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which was previously restored, to help address their medical needs.
