Jigawa ACReSAL project, in collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization PADAC Foundation, has embarked on a sensitization drive targeting an additional 60 communities.

Speaking on the initiative, the State Project Coordinator, Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Uba, expressed optimism about the potential impact of the CRF Programme.

According to him, the exercise is a continuous process, and due process will be followed to ensure the formation of viable community interest groups.

He further explained that, as part of the sensitization exercise, existing community interest groups CIGs were mapped, and the formation of new CIGs is in progress.

He said, the selection of community business agents has been conducted and the formation of board of trustees was also carried out in each of the 60 selected communities.

Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Uba pointed out that, they are expected to work closely with the focal NGO known as PADAC Foundation and the project team to further sensitize and mobilize the community members to better understand the stages of the CRF.

 

Also speaking, the Community Revolving Fund Desk Officer explained that, the CRF facility is a Loan and the sustainability of the programme depends on timely repayment.

 

Radio Nigeria reports that, about 10 communities benefited from the Community Revolving Fund program under the piloting phase last in 2024.

With the completion of the sensitization exercise, additional 60 communities are underway, bringing the total number of participating communities across the 27 local government areas of the state to 70.
