The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Zamfara State has urged households, schools and workplaces to equip them with basic equipment of containing fire incidents before professional bodies arrive to arrest any emergency outbreak.

The Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Sani Mustapha made the call when he paid a condolences visit to Kaura-Namoda Local government area over fire incident that claimed the lives of 17 pupils at Qur’anic School.

Mr. Mustapha implored the citizens to ensure proper putting out of firewood, charcoal and electric cooking appliances after use in order to delimit future occurrences.

According to him, the state command would create awareness of averting widespread of disaster through the Crisis Management department.

“This is to proactively prevent natural and man-made disasters in the future”.

On arrival, the Commandant had condoled with the Emir of Kauran Namoda in his palace, Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed Asha and the Council Chairman Munnir Haidara and the Tsangaya school.

He also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for quick recovery to those injured.

Mr. Sani Mustapha also rendered financial assistance to cushion the treatment bills of those affected with the sum of one hundred thousand naira.

Earlier, the executive Chairman, Kaura Local Government, Munnir Mu’azu Haidara appreciated the state commandant for the heartfelt gesture.

The Emir of Kauran Namoda, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Ahmad Asha commended the personnel of NSCDC for their presence to ensure the situation is brought under control.

He affirmed that, the divisional corps office was well established in Kaura LGA and citizens do not hesitate to seek interference or professional resolution from NSCDC.
