Jigawa State Government has spent over ₦132 million to develop a training center for the conversion of vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Dutse.

The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Power and Energy, Engineer Musa Alhassan Arobade, disclosed this during the launch of a “Train the Trainers” workshop on vehicle conversion from petrol to CNG held at the ministry’s conference hall in Dutse.

According to him, the state government will award contract for the conversion of 25 vehicles from petrol system to CNG.

Engineer Musa Alhassan further explained that the state would also sponsor the training of twenty individuals on converting vehicles from a petrol system to CNG.

He said the beneficiaries would be selected from the Jigawa State Ministry of Power and Energy and the Jigawa State Chapter of the Association of Automobile Technicians.

Engineer Musa added that the state government is fully committed to enhancing energy security, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and supporting economic growth by providing easy access to renewable energy.
