President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and living conditions of military personnel, describing them as the nation’s true heroes.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Barracks in Asokoro, Abuja, the President commended the courage and dedication of the armed forces while pledging the government’s continued support for their welfare and operational needs.

He emphasized that the barracks stand as a testament to the Federal Government’s dedication to improving the lives of soldiers and their families.

The President pledged that his administration would continue to allocate resources to enhance the well-being of military personnel and provide them with the necessary tools to succeed in their duty to protect the nation.

Tinubu expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful completion of the project, emphasizing the importance of creating a conducive environment for soldiers and their families.

He further assured the armed forces of his administration’s unwavering support, stating that their sacrifices and dedication would never go unnoticed.

In a remark, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, reiterated the Nigerian Army’s dedication to improving the welfare of its personnel.

He emphasized the Army’s commitment to ensuring better living conditions for troops, stating that resources will continue to be channelled toward their welfare and operational needs.

The newly commissioned barracks, he noted, reflect the Federal Government’s resolve to support the military and enhance its capabilities.

Lt. Gen. Oluyede also acknowledged the efforts of those who contributed to the successful completion of the project, describing it as a significant step in providing a conducive environment for soldiers and their families.

He called for sustained development and reaffirmed the Army’s determination to prioritize the well-being of its personnel, whom he described as heroes dedicated to protecting the nation.

The newly constructed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Barracks boasts impressive accommodation and state-of-the-art facilities.

It includes 16 Major General quarters, 34 Brigadier General quarters, 60 Colonel flats, and 60 Lieutenant and Captain flats. Additionally, there are 180 flats for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and 264 flats for Corporals and below.

The barracks also feature worship centres, sports facilities, and a powerhouse. A perimeter fence surrounds the entire barracks, ensuring security, with three entrance and exit gates strategically positioned for accessibility.

Furthermore, water tanks have been installed to ensure a steady water supply, complemented by a combination of hard and soft landscaping to enhance the environment.
