Kano State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, made a historic visit to Dorayi Babba Psychiatric and Rehabilitation Center and Shahuchi Old People’s Home.
This was his first official visit as Humanitarian Commissioner, demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals in Kano State.
During the visit, Kibiya assessed the condition, shelter, and food provided to the residents, accompanied by the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Alhaji Abdullahi Isyaku Kubarachi, and other officials.
He praised the caretakers for their excellent work and promised to submit a report to the Governor, highlighting the need for renovations and reconstruction of the centers.
The Commissioner also pledged to forward the names of casual staff for permanent employment, enabling them to work more effectively.

This visit is a testament to the present administration’s priority on the welfare of vulnerable individuals in the state.
The Commissioner’s efforts are part of the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives to support vulnerable individuals across Kano State.
The Ministry has also provided support to other vulnerable families, including a native from Calabar who received food items and rent payment.
Additionally, the Ministry has empowered over nine thousand vulnerable people across the forty four local government areas of Kano State.
