The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) in Nigeria, Aisha Garba, has presented the 2025 budget proposal amounting to over ₦596 billion to the Joint Committee on Basic and Secondary Education of the National Assembly for review.
The committee, chaired by Senator Lawal Adamu, popularly known as Mr. LA, representing Kaduna Central, assured that it would collaborate with the commission to enhance the standard of basic education. This effort aligns with the administration’s objective of improving educational standards from the grassroots.
He advised the Executive Secretary of the agency to present the budget, assuring her that the committee would work on the details.
Senator Lawal added that since she had just resumed office, the committee might, at a later date, call for clarifications if necessary.
He assured the agency of their commitment to ensuring it fulfills its constitutional mandate of uplifting the standard of education at the grassroots level, in line with the objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Similarly, in his comment the cor chairman of the house of representative Hon Mark Useini assured the agency the maximum cooperation needed for the agency to succeed in achieving the desired objective of Mr president to uplift the basic education sector to a higher level in Nigeria.
He added that the committee is aware that the executive secretary has just resumed, assuring all the necessary support, saying National Assembly Committee is a gate way to the Parliament and give the best ideas to achieve the objective.
Speaking shortly after the presentation tge executive secretary A’isha Garba expressed appreciation with the way the committee welcome her team and the encouragement to discharge her assignment
She assured Nigerians that she will do her best in ensuring Nigerians get what is required from the agency.
