Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has urged members of the Nigerian Bar Association in the state to continue upholding the highest ethical standards of the legal profession and to remain a beacon of hope for the common man as well as all those seeking for justice.

He stated this at the 2024 Annual Law Week organized by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gusau branch held in Gusau the Zamfara State Capital.

Governor Dauda emphasized that upholding the rule of law requires technical expertise, moral courage, and integrity.

He said the dynamic nature of law requires constant learning and adaptation, urged members of the association to leverage opportunities for training and knowledge sharing,

Dr Lawal commended Nigeria Bar association Gusau branch for its relentless efforts in championing the cause of justice and the rule of law, stressing that, their dedication to the noble cause was truly commendable and worthy of emulation.

“I particularly commend the efforts of the Bar and Bench in ensuring that justice is dispensed impartially and promptly, even in the face of challenges. Your unwavering commitment instills confidence and serves as a reminder that justice remains the cornerstone of any civilized society”

Dr Dauda Lawal restated that, events like the NBA conference offer invaluable opportunities for legal professionals to exchange ideas and promote justice, democracy, and the rule of law.

He described this years theme “Upholding the Rule of Law, A Tool for Democratic Development was apt and timely.

“It underscores the indispensable role of the legal profession in shaping our society by enshrining the sublime values of equity, justice, and accountability.

“It is my conviction that we will be able to strengthen the foundation of our democracy and the fabric of our existence as a society through our collective commitment to the rule of law.

“The government of Zamfara State remains resolute in restoring peace and stability. We have been working tirelessly to address the root causes of insecurity and to create an environment where our people can live without fear”

He further extended his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for conferring prestigious award on him, saying that, this recognition of his commitment to fighting insecurity, upholding the rule of law, and building infrastructure is profoundly humbling.

Representative of the Chief Judge of Zamfara State Justice Kulu Aliyu, Judges, leaders and other members of the association were present at the event.
