Katsina State Government has been urged to improve the funding of community development projects under the KT-CARES programme.

The Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare, Kankara Local Government of Katsina State, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara made the call in an interview with journalists in commemoration of this year’s Democracy Day celebrations.

He said community development initiative is a fantastic way of inculcating the culture of community participation in development strategies and communities are encouraged to participate in executing projects that have direct bearings on them.

The Kanwan Katsina said the call has become necessary due to the increase in the cost of goods and services in the country especially the increase in the pump price of petroleum products and high exchange of the US Dollar.

” If the funding is not reviewed upwards, some projects initiated may stagnate halfway due to shortages of funds and the aim of putting them up is defeated” He said.

.

On the performance of Governor Dikko Radda in the last one year, the Kanwan  Katsina said the governor had remarkably did well on all fronts.

.

He therefore advised people of the state to intensify their support and prayers for the government so as to continue building on the progress made so far while the governor and his team remain focussed and steadfast in addressing the myriad of challenges facing the state.
